Since the "Backpacker Bowie" uses an aluminum threaded insert to accept broadheads, we decided to take advantage of its design and build a carbon fiber fishing spear attachment. Simply thread the fishing shaft into the "Backpacker Bowie" and try your hand at primitive fishing! We strongly advise against using this set up on rocky river banks as we did not design the "Backpacker Bowie" for this purpose. We have tried this set up in sandy conditions with no damage to the "Backpacker Bowie". The shaft and fishing tip is 6 inches in length. The shaft weighs .2 ounces and the barbed fishing head weighs .4 ounces.
