We developed this product specifically for ultra light backpackers. We wanted this device to pack as much punch as the legendary Bowie knife at a fraction of the weight. It is our opinion that the best protection from predators of all types would be a large bore rifle. Large bore then small bore pistol would be next. We developed this product not as an alternative to firearms but rather as an incredibly effective option when weight is the primary concern. This device can be quickly attached to a trekking pole and provides a devastatingly effective reach advantage. Additionally this device weighs less than two ounces and can be conveniently carried on a trekking pole so it won't add weight to your pack. The secret to the effectiveness of the "Backpacker Bowie" is in the large game hunting mechanical broadheads that increase cutting surface area while achieving exceptionally light weight. We tested a variety of hybrid broadheads and "Afflictor Broadheads" performed exceptionally well in our testing. We are very proud to offer Afflictor Broadheads with our "Backpacker Bowie". The Backpacker Bowie is constructed of black matte carbon fiber and aluminum. You can choose your mechanical broadhead color by checking the apropriate box. This device was designed to be used for one strong thrust into a predator.
